Margarita Galandina -   ‘I remember, I forgot’

In her current project, Margo explores the notion of nostalgia and how it affects our ability to memorise family history. She felt a profound longing for a specific place and time of my ancestral home which I’ve never lived through and never physically cognised. Being in the present was not enough. Through photography, archive, drawing and performance I’m reimagining my family history and locating their cultural displacement in between modern Western Russia and Indigenous Siberian homeland.
